Writing Office Resources
The following are resources contained in our Writing Offices to which the students have access to assist with their writing in our classroom. Students can use these to create their own version of a Writing Office at home. They can simply write out the word lists on paper and keep them in one location or notebook to refer to when writing at home. This helps them to write independently without constantly asking an adult how to spell common words or rely on sounding out letters for words that are used frequently in writing.
With more challenging words, please encourage your child to sound out the letters for spelling rather than just telling them. It is a very important skill they need to practice. If using a lot of new vocabulary surrounding a certain theme or topic such as Easter, you can create a word bank of frequent vocabulary together for them to use.
